Blazonry Class, May 9

Saturday, May 9, 2020, 1:00–2:30 PM ET

From pictures to words, and words to pictures: getting the details of your blazons and emblazons right!

Join Bóaire Mathghamhain, Elmet Herald (East Kingdom Heraldic Education) and Lady Lilie Dubh, Pantheon Herald (Assistant in the Blue Tyger Submissions Office), as they help Eastern heralds learn and practice the grammar of blazon.

We’ll review reference works that guide heralds through constructing and interpreting blazon, then spend much of the class working through interactive examples, writing blazons for previously-registered armory and sketching emblazons based on entries in the O&A. We’ll provide links to handouts and close with a short question-and-answer session.

The class will be held online using Google Meet, with practical examples worked through in Google Docs and Google Jamboard; iOS and Android users should download those apps ahead of time, while desktop users just need a browser. The class will be recorded for those who cannot attend.

To join, click on at 1:00 PM ET on Saturday,  May 9.
