To the heralds of the East, as well as our counterparts in foreign lands and those interested in learning the trade, greetings from Mathghamhain Ua Ruadháin, Elmet education herald.
You are invited to join us online for a book-heraldry discussion and OSCAR commentary session on Wednesday, March 24, from 7:00 to around 9:00 PM Eastern.
These sessions are an informal opportunity to connect with other heralds, get answers to your heraldic questions, and become more familiar with the OSCAR commentary process in a supportive environment. Anyone wishing to master the SCA’s process for registering names and armory is welcome to participate.
As with past sessions, we’ll chat about heraldic topics, spend some time browsing through a period armorial, and then review the most recent East Kingdom letter of intent.
We’ll have plenty of time for general discussion, so please feel free to share something interesting you learned recently, show off a cool project you’ve been working on, or ask any questions you may have on other heraldic topics — if we don’t know the answer, we’ll try to help you find someone who does!
If you haven’t ever commented in OSCAR before, this is a great way to get started, and by the end of the session you’ll have enough experience to be able to apply for your own account. In addition to helping the kingdom’s heralds find and fix problematic submissions, learning how this process works is also a great way to train yourself to resolve issues on your own forms before mailing them in.
Join the discussion by clicking this link at 7:00 PM Eastern on Wednesday, March 24: https://meet.google.com/zay-unob-kth

I look forward to talking with you soon,
— Mathghamhain Elmet
